My friend Anna bought the wrong dough from the turkish supermarket for what she wanted to prepare (“Apfelstrudel”), so she gave it to me and I decided to make some special Zigarettenböreks (very thin cigar shaped deep-fried bits), but with a untypical filling (normally they are filled with Feta cheese and herbs)
I used:
eggplant
potato
tomato
zucchini
parsley
garlic
rosemary
oregano
goat cheese
Then making rolls…, you have to apply some water to the dough so it doesn’t break and to make it sticky, so it doesn’t open while deep-frying…
(Yes, it looks a little bit like eaten before because of the melted goat cheese, but trust me, it tasted delish)
Then deep-frying…
